Matt Damon joins cast of Christopher Nolan’s Interstellar

Last Updated on August 5, 2021

Christopher Nolan has obviously never had any trouble lining up great casts. His latest, a sci-fi epic called INTERSTELLAR, has already gathered up a group of names including Anne Hathaway, Matthew McConaughey, Jessica Chastain, Michael Caine, Casey Affleck, Topher Grace, Ellen Burstyn and John Lithgow. Wow. But now one more name has been added, according to The Playlist: Matt Damon.

Damon, who is obviously coming off of another high profile sci-fi adventure, ELYSIUM, has joined the cast in what is being called “a small, undisclosed role.” Apparently he’ll only be shooting on the project for two weeks in Iceland, which isn’t very long when you consider the film has a production schedule that lasts approximately four months.

Naturally, Nolan’s film is being kept tightly under wraps, but here’s what we know about it thus far:

A group of explorers make use of a newly discovered wormhole to surpass the limitations on human space travel and conquer the vast distances involved in an interstellar voyage.

INTERSTELLAR opens November 7, 2014.
