New Sinister poster has but one question for you…

Last Updated on August 5, 2021

As Scott Derrickson’s supernatural horror flick SINISTER inches toward its October release date, the onslaught of marketing material continues marching forward. This morning yields a brand new one-sheet for the film, featuring the face of the film’s scary, child snatching demon thing along with the haunting question: “Have you seen him?”

It’s an effective, stripped down, simple poster. Whether or not the demonic design will catch on as an iconic emblem will ultimately be decided by SINISTER’S fan response and box office receipts. Things are looking quite optimistic, as the early word on the street is that SINISTER delivers the chills in spades.

In fact, Summit is so confident in SINISTER’S pants sh*tting street cred that they are allowing fans to schedule their own pre-release, hometown premiere through Tugg.com. Said site can be described as sort of a “Kickstarter for film distribution”, meaning you set up a screening wherever you are, promote it, and if there’s enough RSVPs by the set deadline your exhibition is set. A novel idea, if I do say so myself, and a great way to get some word-of-mouth going among horror audiences before the big release date.

Check out SeeSinisterFirst.com to schedule your own premiere of the Ethan Hawk joint, which hits theaters nationwide on October 5th. While you’re at it, check out the synopsis and new poster below to ask yourself, “Have you seen him?”

Found footage helps a true-crime novelist realize how and why a family was murdered in his new home, though his discoveries put his entire family in the path of a supernatural entity.
