Osgood Perkins to direct I Am the Pretty Thing That Lives in the House

With his horror/thriller FEBRUARY (pictured above) showing at film festivals and getting distribution deals (A24 and DirecTV have acquired the U.S. distribution rights), writer/director Osgood Perkins is looking ahead to his next film, which will see him re-teaming with FEBRUARY producer Rob Paris and returning to the horror genre.

Perkins's next horror tale is I AM THE PRETTY THING THAT LIVES IN THE HOUSE

about a young nurse named Lily who is hired as caretaker for an elderly best-selling author of ghost stories as she lives out her final days in her beloved country home. The only problem is that the home is host to a horrific ghost story of its own.

The title is a bit cumbersome, but the story sounds interesting. Osgood Perkins is the son of PSYCHO star Anthony Perkins, and it's nice to see him delving into the genre his father is most famous for rather than shying away from it. He also recently co-wrote THE GIRL IN THE PHOTOGRAPHS, which was executive produced by Wes Craven.

Casting is currently underway for I AM THE PRETTY THING THAT LIVES IN THE HOUSE, which is scheduled to start filming next spring. Rob Paris's Paris Film Inc. will co-finance with Zed Filmworks and Go Insane Films.
