Pegg & Frost recruit pal Paddy Considine for apocalyptic comedy The World’s End

Last Updated on August 5, 2021

At last blush, British cutie Rosamund Pike (below) had joined funnymen Simon Pegg and Nick Frost in the post-apocalyptic comedy THE WORLD’S END. Well, it looks like the two leading blokes are reuniting with an old pal, as the great Paddy Considine (HOT FUZZ, seen right) has just been added to the cast. Specifically, Considine will play a former ladies man and musician who has grown up to be a divorced architect. I’m already laughing.

Co-written and directed by Edgar Wright – THE WORLD’S END starts when:

20 years after attempting an epic pub crawl, five childhood friends reunite when one of them becomes hellbent on trying the drinking marathon again. They are convinced to stage an encore by mate Gary King, a 40-year old man trapped at the cigarette end of his teens, who drags his reluctant pals to their hometown and once again attempts to reach the fabled pub – The World’s End. As they attempt to reconcile the past and present, they realize the real struggle is for the future, not just theirs but humankind’s. Reaching The World’s End is the least of their worries.

THE WORLD’S END is slated to shoot this October for a late summer/early fall 2013 release.
