Scream Factory continues to roll out new title announcements as part of their month-long 'Shocktober' celebration, and today they took to Facebook to share the news that Jeff Burr's 1987 cult classic anthology horror FROM A WHISPER TO A SCREAM will be heading to Blu-ray in February 2015!
For the uninitiated, the film stars legendary king of horror Vincent Price, Clu Gulager (RETURN OF THE LIVING DEAD), Susan Tyrell (ANGEL) and Cameron Mitchell (THE TOOLBOX MURDERS). I remember this one on VHS back in the day under the title THE OFFSPRING.
The uncle of an executed murderess relates four stories of his hometown, Oldfield, to a reporter: an elderly man pursues a romance with a younger woman, even to the grave and beyond…a wounded man on the run from creditors is rescued by a backwoods hermit with the secret to eternal life…a glass-eating carny pays the ultimate price for looking for love on the outside…and Civil War soldiers are held captive by a household of orphans with strange intentions for them.
Artwork you see below is final (and Scream Factory shares that they will strive to make the reverse art as THE OFFSPRING – no promises at this time.) There are no details on extras at this time but they will be announced before the end of the year.
