"It's like a Friends episode, but someone's trying to murder all the friends." Now that's the kind of show I can get behind! In this new promo for Scream Queens, entitled "Beta Watch Out," Niecy Nash (as Denise, the sarcastic security guard) shines bright, bringing the show's promos a sense of comedy that has been severely lacking.
Honestly, this thirty second teaser had more laugh-out-loud moments and genre awareness than the entire opening scene of MTV's Scream. I've had my doubts about whether Ryan Murphy & Co could do justice to the slasher genre, but the outlook doesn't seem so grim at the moment. Check out the full clip below!
Scream Queens opens in a flashback to 1995 at the sorority where something horrible happens. It’s a mystery that goes unsolved. Flash forward 20 years to today, and it looks like someone is out for revenge. Something horrible happened to a pledge and on the anniversary of that crime, someone is out for vengeance.
Scream Queens also stars Emma Roberts, Jamie Lee Curtis, Lea Michele, Keke Palmer, Oliver Hudson, Abigail Breslin, Ariana Grande, Billie Lourd, Skyler Samuels, and Nick Jonas. The show will premiere on Fox on September 22nd.
