The Bleeding Joystick is a bi-weekly column that rounds up the more stand-out GENRE VIDEO GAME news that is out there!

Stallone Taking Over Your Consoles!

Look, Smithers! Rambo is coming! Okay, that’s me being stupid but seriously, has there ever been a piece of news more worthy for this column? Rambo: The Video Game is on its way down the pike and will be playable for the first time at the Gamescom Expo in August.

There aren’t a lot of details, as Reef Entertainment has “been quiet” since grabbing the Rambo license about a year ago, as mentioned by commercial director Craig Lewis. The goal here is to create a game that will “get under the skin of Rambo and wield his iconic weapon set in battle.”

This is awesome news, and it has also been confirmed that Stallone will naturally reprise his role as John Rambo. As if this wasn’t awesome enough, Ubisoft recently released our first look at the upcoming Expendables 2 video game. I don’t know about you, but I feel as though this is shaping up to be an awesome time to love video games with Stallone in them (ha). Check out the trailer below!

Colonial Marines Not Including Enough Girls?

Not too long ago, I mentioned the upcoming game Aliens: Colonial Marines as it’s coming to consoles this February. However, there’s been some doings a transpiring and it looks as though some dust has been kicked up over the lack of a female character in the game. During a web chat last month with producer Brian Burleson, it came up that there are no female characters available in the multiplayer portion of the game, although it is possible to play as a gal in the single-player campaign.

This has raised the ire of iPetitions user Melissa K (MOOSH89), who states that she is not necessarily outraged, but that the Aliens franchise has been “dominated by strong females such as Ripley, Vasquez, Ferro, Dietrich, and most importantly, The Queen.” At last check, the petition had over 1800 signatures.

So, what do you think? Are female characters in the multiplayer Aliens component important?

Max Payne and You

In a cool bit of news, you might be able to have yourself appear in an upcoming DLC pack for Rockstar’s Max Payne 3!

It really doesn’t take a lot of work, although you’ll need to sign up to Rockstar’s “social club”, which is free. If you want a crack at maybe having your visage appear in the game, simply follow these steps as listed on the Max Payne Casting page:

1. Link your gaming network account with your Social Club account. If you don’t have a Social Club account yet, click here.

2. Start up Max Payne 3 and select “Social Club Multiplayer Event” in the Multiplayer menu during one of the Casting Event Sessions and complete one full game.

3. Each week we will invite a select group of players via email to submit photos for consideration to have their likeness added to the page.

RE6: The cut scenes

I know that it seems as though I post about Resident Evil 6 every time I write one of these damn things, but let’s face it..the game is approaching release and arguably one of the most anticipated horror games on the way.

The latest news bit doesn’t exactly have me thrilled to say it, but there are apparently over FOUR HOURS of cutscenes in the game. With that being said, don’t panic yet- there have been three confirmed campaigns announced so far with a potential fourth to be announced. I guess if it’s split up that isn’t so bad, but long cutscenes can really do some damage to a game.

Walking Dead: Another Game!

And last. but certainly not least comes the news that Activision has teamed with Telltale Games to produce a Walking Dead FPS to land sometime in 2013. I’m honestly not super pumped about this, as the current Telltale Games episodic series is just fantastic, and I never really saw The Walking Dead as run and gun sort of game.

Either way, we know you’re playing as Daryl Dixon and his brother Merle (yeah, the major racist), trying to get to Atlanta. Stealth is an option if you don’t wish to solely blast, and apparently inventory management is equally important.

Little else is known, but this is still surely an exciting development. Let’s just hope the game is awesome. Until next week, I heartily recommend you check out the current Telltale Games Walking Dead series!
