If you were patiently awaiting the further cinematic adventures of Ed and Lorraine Warren with the sequel to last years THE CONJURING, you'll have to wait a little bit longer as Warner Bros. has pushed THE CONJURING 2 back to 2016, according to The Wrap.

Warner Bros. had originally slated THE CONJURING 2 to arrive in theaters on October 23, 2015, but now that slot will be filled with an untitled New Line horror film (perhaps another THE CONJURING spin-off ala ANNABELLE?). No reason was given as to why THE CONJURING 2 was shifted. Could this possibly open the door for James Wan to return to the director's chair for the sequel? Fingers crossed…

The original THE CONJURING was a breakout hit for New Line in 2013, and spawned the spin-off ANNABELLE (directed by John Leonetti) which opened to $37 million three weeks ago. It's possible that New Line and Warner Bros. are looking at an ANNABELLE sequel for next October as the film has been a hit, taking in more than $166 million at the global box office so far. We'll have to wait and see what this 'untitled horror project' could be.

More on THE CONJURING 2 (and this mystery project for next October) as we hear it.
