Tony Todd's Dead of the Nite sets release date

Nov. 26, 2013by: Ryan Miller

Just a few months after getting acquired by Acort International, one of the top distributors of independent films in the global marketplace, S.J. Evans' horror film DEAD OF THE NITE, starring Tony Todd has finally set a release date! The wait isn't much longer as we will now see DEAD OF NITE hit VOD as well as shelves on January 7, 2014. Todd never stops working—one quick glance at his IMDB page will tell you that—and it's always exciting to see him star in a horror flick because he brings something special to each and every role. CANDYMAN will forever torment me, so thanks for that Mr. Todd!

And here's what the flick is about, it has a pretty interesting little hook to it:

When a group of internet sensation ghost hunters are found brutally slaughtered in the infamous Jericho Manor, police detectives Jenkins (GARY MAVERS) and Anderson (JOSEPH MILLSON) must piece together what happened on the fatal night by viewing the paranormal investigators' video footage. With the only witness being the secretive caretaker (TONY TODD) claiming it was the ghost of killer Jeffery Heath, will the detectives discover more than they had bargained for?

The film is said to be an intelligent twist on the paranormal genre that includes horror icons Tony Todd (CANDYMAN, HATCHET), Simon Bamford (HELLRAISER, NIGHTBREED), and Suzie Lorraine.

Heck, if they cut the title out of that poster, I would have thought it's another Candyman movie.
