Trey Edward Shults It Comes At Night

A couple days ago, A24 shared an excellent poster for director Trey Edward Shults' psychological horror film IT COMES AT NIGHT, a poster featuring a simple image that revealed nothing about the movie and yet still managed to be deeply creepy.

A24 has now released a trailer for the film that also manages to stir up an unnerving atmosphere while at the same time not showing much and telling us absolutely nothing about the film's story. If you need to know a little about the plot of something before you decide whether or not you want to see it, this trailer isn't going to help you out. If you want the promise of intensity and creepiness, however, this trailer has you covered.

The trailer doesn't tell us what IT COMES AT NIGHT is about, but we do have a synopsis:

A man learns that the evil stalking his family home may be only a prelude to horrors that come from within.

Secure within a desolate home as an unnatural threat terrorizes the world, the tenuous domestic order he has established with his wife and son is put to the ultimate test with the arrival of a desperate young family seeking refuge.

Despite the best intentions of both families, paranoia and mistrust boil over as the horrors outside creep ever-closer, awakening something hidden and monstrous within him as he learns that the protection of his family comes at the cost of his soul.

Joel Edgerton, Riley Keough, Carmen Ejogo, Christopher Abbot, and Kelvin Harrison Jr. star.

IT COMES AT NIGHT is coming to theatres on August 25th
