Two more unknowns join the cast of Hunger Games as ‘Portia’ and ‘Octavia’

I thought we were finally finised with all this casting nonesense from THE HUNGER GAMES? It still kind of baffles me how so many unknown actors and actresses getting cast in a flick is such steady news. Is THE HUNGER GAMES really that big of a deal? I suppose so because today we’ve got more news on yet a couple more unknowns that’ll be popping up in the flick.

According to The Hollywood Reporter’s Heat Vision blog the latest names to join ‘THE GAMES’ are Latarsha Rose and Brooke Bundy. Rose will play ‘Portia,’ ‘Peeta’s’ stylist, while Bundy (right) has scored the role of ‘Octavia,’ a member of ‘Katniss” prep team. Both relative unknowns, Rose has done a handful of television work while Bundy was last seen in the indie WITHOUT.

THE HUNGER GAMES takes place every year in the ruins of what was once North America, as the nation of Panem forces each of its twelve districts to send a teenage boy and girl to compete in the Hunger Games. Part twisted entertainment, part government intimidation tactic, the Hunger Games are a nationally televised event in which “Tributes” must fight with one another until one survivor remains. Pitted against highly-trained Tributes who have prepared for these Games their entire lives, Katniss is forced to rely upon her sharp instincts as well as the mentorship of drunken former victor Haymitch Abernathy. If she’s ever to return home to District 12, Katniss must make impossible choices in the arena that weigh survival against humanity and life against love.

Rose and Bundy join the gigantic cast of THE HUNGER GAMES which also includes Jennifer Lawrence (below), Josh Hutcherson, Liam Hemsworth, Stanley Tucci, Woody Harrelson, Elizabeth Banks, Paula Malcolmson, Willow Shields, Wes Bentley, Alexander Ludwig, Isabelle Fuhrman, Sam Ly, Leigha Hancock, Samuel Tan, Mackenzie Lintz, Imanol Yepez-Frias, Annie Thurman, Leven Rambin, Jack Quaid, Ian Nelson, Kalia Prescott, Dayo Okeniyi, Amandla Stenberg, Ethan Jamieson, Tara Macken, Ashton Moio, Kara Petersen, Chris Mark and Jacqueline Emerson. Gary Ross is directing.
