Can you guys get enough CLOVERFIELD news? I guess we'll know soon, because this movie is suddenly both the most anticipated and least known about movie for the future. Still though, through Tal at TrailerSpy we've got a couple more juicy morsels of info, particularly putting to rest that rumor that this might be another Godzilla flick. Although none of us really believed that did we?

Apparently, an insider has reported that the shoot is so secretive that even though he's involved in the shoot, even he doesn't know what the movie is. Click HERE for the rest of the report, for some information on the military in the flick and even possibly the release date for the flick.

The advertising campaign for this thing is pure genius. I love LOST and I thought MISSION IMPOSSIBLE 3 was by far the best of the franchise, but no way did I think I could get so impossibly hyped up about something J.J. Abrams was producing. Roll on!

For crying out loud, it's a teaser. Google it up and you'll find that a teaser is supposed to (wait for it) tease you! (shock!). If it managed to make people go "Wtf was that all about?" then mission accomplished! I don't know about those ppl, but if I said that, I'd definitely be curious on the subject. Then again for those who said "That was gay", maybe they just had a bad childhood. Then aga...

The only thing now is that don't hype/tease us only to find out the final flick is gonna be a load of stinking shit (I wished exactly the same thing for Transformers. Here's wishing that this works for Cloverfield. May you rock when the time arrives!).

Yea..
I thought it was the Host too( saw it at a screening about a year ago...it's not scary but it'll keep u guessing what happens and it has pretty funny moments)...until I saw the ball of fire coming from downtown NYC and the Statue of liberty's head thrown around....the Host monster wasn't strong enough to throw a trailer around....so unless they change the monster completely...it's a different m...

Well the trailer is online now and it does really sound like Godzilla...

It make sense though since Abrams is making certain franchises better like Mission impossible and Star Trek... so bring on GODZILLLLAAAAAA!!!!!!!

I think that's the point....
The trailer got people talking. In my theatre everyone was chatting normally through the commercials and whatnot and then this trailer came on and at first you could still hear some chattering, then all of a sudden it was dead quiet and stayed that way through out and then after it was all over everyone was still quiet for a good 30 seconds and then you could hear people going "What was that?"...

The chatter was good and bad both, but mostly on the good side. Me personally, I hope it isn't another alien invasion flick because all the secretive marketing and genius campaign just can't make an alien invasion movie interesting to me anymore.

Why is the advertising “pure genius”?
Except for on the internet, the overall reactions to the trailer in the theater just seemed very negative. In my theater one person shouted “That was gay!” which was responded with much laughter. The guy behind me mumbled “um, what fuck was that suppose to be?”.
