When the theatrical poster for GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY dropped, it brought with it a classic STAR WARS vibe. While GUARDIANS may be a little more tongue-in-cheek than everyone’s favorite space opera, that’s no reason to think that the similarities end there. Now someone has come along and cut a trailer of the original trilogy in the same vein as GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY, and the likeness between the two franchises seem even more apparent!

Music is obviously a big factor, setting the tone for GUARDIANS in a way that’s different from STAR WARS. Brilliant move, as far as I’m concerned, as it immediately clues you in to what type of movie you’re in for.
We’ll see how GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY compares when it hits theaters on August 1, 2014.
