Aykroyd talks GB3

The planned third GHOSTBUSTERS film is picking up heat, and recently G-buster alumni Dan Aykroyd had this to say about some of the ideas that will be explored in the new film:

There’ll be a whole new generation that has to be trained and a leader that you’ll all love when you meet her. There’ll be lots of cadets, boys and girls who’ll be learning how to use the neuron splitter and the inter-planet interceptor – new tools to enable them to slip from dimension to dimension.

Eliza Dushku and Alyssa Milano have both been rumoured to be involved in the film, so perhaps one of them will be playing this "leader" Aykroyd speaks of. Although Bill Murray was rumoured to be opposed to a third film, he’s now apparently on board. Aykroyd mentions that Bill Murray’s condition for returning was that Ernie Hudson’s previously underwritten role as Winston Zeddemore would be a little meatier, thus putting him on equal footing with the others. Harold Ramis is attached to direct the film and Lee Eisenberg and Gene Stupnitsky (writers for the U.S. version of "The Office") are working on the script.
