Before Age of Ultron, Chris Evans will make his directorial debut with 1:30 Train

With CAPTAIN AMERICA: THE WINTER SOLDIER wrapping up soon it won’t be long before THE AVENGERS: AGE OF ULTRON needs to start shooting. Chris Evans will be wiped but he won’t be taking it easy on himself. In fact, he just lined up a new project that will also mark his debut behind the camera.

Deadline reports that Evans will produce, direct, and star in 1:30 TRAIN, which is compared to Richard Linklater‘s BEFORE SUNRISE trilogy.

1:30 TRAIN focuses on two strangers who meet in Manhattan and spend one night together as the conflicts in their own lives become the basis for their exploration of each other and themselves.

Evans will shoot the film in the Fall and then quickly change gears to throw on the red, white, and blue again as Steve Rogers for the 2014 shoot of THE AVENGERS: AGE OF ULTRON. Evans is definitely well known enough now to try his hand at several different challenging projects and taking on a directing gig was not one I expected, but I will definitely be keeping an eye out for it.
