Can Leo Beat Reaper?

01.08.2009

Leo DiCaprio is perhaps my favorite leading man in our mixed up little world. I love him like I love a good tender piece of pork belly in a caper and fennel broth. And I know I will love his next starring role in BEAT THE REAPER, a new film based on the hottly anticipated novel by first-time author Josh Bazell. Leo will play a Manhattan emergency room doctor, whose life becomes complicated when a mobster recognizes the doc from his former life as a hitman who went into the witness protection program.

Leo's production house Appian Way is set to co-produce the film but there is no director signed as of yet. I don't know about you, but for some reason when thinking of directors for this film, a short, furry-browed Italian man with a winning smile comes to mind. Just a thought.

I love Leo and I'll watch anything he's in from now on.

Favorite role: a 2-way tie between The Departed and Catch Me If You Can. Blood Diamond was his best performance though, in my opinion.

mine too

He's my favorite actor working today and I'd have to say that Danny Archer from Blood Diamond is hands down my favorite role of his.

Frank Abagnale Jr. and Richard from The Beach were also great... but his best work by far was from The Departed.

Growing Pains!

But seriously, it's got to be the Departed. Followed closely by Blood Diamond.

sounds interesting but hearing it compared to a history of violence makes me think it could turn out like crap. i thought history had bad acting a crappy plot that has been told before and there was really nothing interesting about it besides the fact that the like 2 fight sences end in really bloody very detailed gore which is nice but doesnt make a movie. by the way am i the only person who didnt like a history of violence?
i really want leo to consider playing kanado (i cant spell it)

Leo's the man, but as xander said, the plot made me instantly think a history of violence.

Fav all time leo role would definitely be The Aviator. Gangs of New York was great too but mainly because of Daniel Day Lewis.

Interesting. And Scorsese has a lot on his slate as it is right now, I doubt he does this...

Favorite DiCaprio role is Billy Costigan in The Departed. I love that movie and it's the 1st one where I truly liked and appreciated DiCaprio after that teen-hearthrob period after Titanic.
