Chipmunks wear Levis

A lot of people wondered why Jason Lee signed on to star in ALVIN AND THE CHIPMUNKS. And then that movie went on to make over $200 million and Lee brought home some serious cash. Well Lee has decided he’s gonna take the money and run. Jason Lee won’t return for the film’s sequel and has instead passed the reins to another NBC sitcom star, Zachary Levi of “Chuck.” Levi will star in ALVIN AND THE CHIPMUNKS: THE SQUEAKQUEL, a movie that perhaps marks the first and only time a K and Q have appeared back-to-back in a movie title. Instead of replacing Lee as Dave Seville, Levi will play his cousin who gets tasked with watching the chipmunks. Somewhere in the mix of all this insanity will be the infamous Chippettes (and I still say Brittany is one of the hottest cartoon characters of all time). Filming will begin while Levi is on hiatus from “Chuck” and Fox has already set a December release date for the film. Lee is somewhere in the Bahamas counting his money and cackling.
