Cool Videos: E.T. returns with a vengeance in E.T-X: Extinction

02.22.2011

Although it's extremely unlikely that Steven Spielberg will ever revisit the classic E.T.: THE EXTRATERRESTRIAL with a sequel, that doesn't mean the thought hasn't crossed the minds of the internet's growing population of amateur editors, mashup makers and lunatics.

And thus we have the extended trailer for E.T.-X: EXTINCTION, a follow-up featuring some downright vicious versions of the formerly friendly space critter who captured our hearts almost three decades ago. Firefingers!

Hilarious! At first I thought it was real, and I was trying to figure out why I had not heard they were making this. Did they really get the guy who played Elliot, and Drew Barrymore?

I thought the same thing but then Bruce Willis and Morgan Freeman showed up and I realized it was all edited together from different movies. Henry Thomas' scenes were from 11:14, Drew Barrymore's were from 50 First Dates, Morgan Freeman's scenes were from Sudden Impact and Bruce Willis' scenes were from Under Siege.

Slight correction- Willis' stuff aren't from 'Under Siege', but 'The Siege', and Freeman's are 'Deep Impact' not 'Sudden Impact'.

Wow, that is impressive. Does anyone recognize where Henry Thomas' scenes are from? I can't beleive he's reprising his role as Elliot.

That was amazing! The candy drop was hilarious, and including the original cast was a nice touch.

Yeah, but . . .

You know it was pretty cool. Fabulous idea, great editing, good recreations, nice cameos. But Good God, why invest all the time and effort into a project like this and use LAME FONTS for your titling?
