Could Natalie Portman play Lois Lane in Superman?

Remember yesterday when I was like, “Darren Aronofsky could possibly direct SUPERMAN.”

Well now add another possible name to the equation–Natalie Portman.

Please note that this is all currently hearsay stemming from “a friend” of the site, Moviehole. This friend apparently worked on BLACK SWAN with Aronofsky who said that the director has been thinking about helming SUPERMAN for awhile. But he has not progressed beyond “the suggestion of having Nat[alie Portman] be Lois”.

This “friend” also adds that, “They wanted her first time around [obviously for SUPERMAN RETURNS], this time they can get her – with Darren. But who knows where that’s at now..nothing on paper yet. Don’t add his name to the IMDB director listing on the film’s page yet.”

So that’s that. Is it true? Perhaps. I’m sure that in the coming months we will be hearing more and more rumors on the project. Portman has a great relationship with Aronofsky since they worked for quite a while on developing and filming BLACK SWAN. Then again, would she take it after being in THOR? I’d take Portman as my Lois. Would you?
