Diaz does Hornet? | Movie News
Looking to regain some box office clout after MY SISTER'S KEEPER died a pretty quick theatrical death, Cameron Diaz has apparently set her mind on getting into the Seth Rogen business. "Hollywood Insider" has learned that she's in early talks to play the female lead opposite Rogen in his upcoming GREEN HORNET adaptation. Rogen, who's also writing the flick, with Michel Gondry directing, will, of course, be playing the titular newspaperman-cum-superhero who fights crime alongside his Asian sidekick Kato. Female lead in this case probably means love interest as well so it's probable we'll be seeing some Diaz-on-Rogen action. Though going from Katherine Heigl to Amber Heard to Anna Faris to Diaz seems like a significant step down. Production is expected to begin soon with a release already set for July 9th, 2010.

Extra Tidbit: Diaz was originally supposed to play Sonya Blade in MORTAL KOMBAT.

I definitely see as great news! Hope she gets it...
BTW, that's one of the best Diaz pictures I've ever seen. Good eye Omar.

I mean I like Heigl and Heard like the next (horny) guy but those 2 have another, atleast, 10 good roles to play before they can be categorized alongside Diaz.
Diaz was hilarious and kicked derriers in the Charlie's Angels flicks (which, fuck you I dug) so this is right up her alley. Let alone how great a pair she and Rogen could make.

When I first heard Rogen and Chow were involved, I hoped it would get canceled. I'm a fan of both their work, but if they want to do a superhero spoof I wish they'd just come up with an original character rather than parodying an existing one (which is exactly what Chow is doing). When Michel Gondry came onboard I started to regain hope and the fact that Rogen has lost a ton of weight for the role makes me believe he's going to take this seriously. I mean if he wants to break away from typecasting and prove he has some range this would be a very good chance.
I don't know how faithful they're going to remain to the comics but I know that Gondry's a fan of the character (he tried getting a Green Hornet movie off the ground back in 1996), and if nothing else I know with him involved I'll at least get a good film.
