Ewan McGregor could help Bryan Singer's Jack kill giants
Director Bryan Singer's fairy tale action epic JACK THE GIANT KILLER just added another familiar face -- Ewan McGregor.
The actor and ex-Jedi will provide battle assistance to the titular Jack, played by ABOUT A BOY boy Nicholas Hoult (who'll also be seen as young Beast in the Singer-produced prequel X-MEN: FIRST CLASS).
Singer's big-budget retelling of the folk tale presents Jack as a farm boy "who leads an expedition to free a princess taken hostage by a giant, a situation which threatens the uneasy peace between humans and giants."
The movie already has Stanley Tucci as the villain, an adviser to the king with designs on usurping power, and Bill Nighy and John Kassir (the Crypt Keeper!) as the dual noggins of a two-headed giant. A princess is still needed.
McGregor will soon be seen with asskicker Gina Carano in Steven Soderbergh's action-espionage flick HAYWIRE.
|Extra Tidbit:||McGregor has twice documented lengthy motorcycle trips with chum Charley Boorman, in the movies LONG WAY ROUND and LONG WAY DOWN.|
