Freak yourself out with these new Insidious: Chapter 2 featurettes

Aug. 9, 2013by: Alex Maidy

INSIDIOUS freaked me out. I mean, I went into it expecting it to be another run of the mill garbage horror movie and was surprised to find a well made scary flick. As a horror snob, I did not want to admit the guy behind SAW could have turned in something actually worth watching. With the ending of the first movie perfectly standalone, I was a little sad to know the inevitable sequel was coming. But, when I saw the trailer for INSIDIOUS: CHAPTER 2 I was intrigued to see if the movie would turn out to be as good as the first.

The famed horror team of director James Wan and writer Leigh Whannell reunite with the original cast of Patrick Wilson, Rose Byrne, Lin Shaye, Barbara Hershey and Ty Simpkins in INSIDIOUS: CHAPTER 2, a terrifying sequel to the acclaimed horror film, which follows the haunted Lambert family as they seek to uncover the mysterious childhood secret that has left them dangerously connected to the spirit world.

Bringing back the entire primary cast including Rose Byrne, Patrick Wilson, and Barbara Hershey, INSIDIOUS: CHAPTER 2 plans to tiptoe into your tulips and f*ck your nightmares. These two new featurettes explore the supernatural world created by James Wan. I dare you to sleep soundly tonight.

INSIDIOUS: CHAPTER 2 starring Patrick Wilson, Rose Byrne, Lin Shaye, Barbara Hershey, Ty Simpkins and Jocelin Donahue opens September 23, 2013.

So looking forward to this one. The first one was such a surprising gem of a film. September can't get here soon enough.

Insidious is on par with Saw 1, better than any Saw sequel

I just hope he didn't put all of his effort into the Conjuring. That was better than Insidious and Saw as well so it might have taken a lot out of him to do two very similar movies with similar casts. Lets just see how he can pull off a sequel to Insidious because I am very cautious at this point.

You call yourself a horror snob but rank Insidious above Saw? One is an average, PG-13 haunted house movie that goes full retard in the third act and the other is actually a proper, original horror/thriller.

It's a shame Wan had to make a sequel to his second-worst movie, but whatever got The Conjuring made.

Maybe you went full retard the moment you hit your head in the dumpster your mother threw you into... Insidious was a decent movie, Saw wasn't a flawless movie. They both deserve their spot on the shelf in the cabinet of classic horror movies. Insidious, Saw and Conjuring are great horror movies in their own right and are considered the best horror movie to be released in the year they were put out to the public.

Nah. Enjoy your generic ghost stories, though. No one will remember Insidious in 20 years but people will still be watching Saw.

PS: please refrain from personally insulting me like a child because you can't handle differing opinions.

I think they are two different kinds of horror movies. Neither perfect but both better and smarter than the usual stuff that's being made.

I completely agree with you. SPOILERS if you haven't seen it. I was 45 minutes into Insidious thinking "This is like a modern Poltergeist, I love this!" Then they went into the further and the creature that was once scary becomes incredibly laughable, and the father who's cared so much about getting his son back just drops him off at the door and says good luck while he yells at an old lady ghost? Completely fell apart.

Insidious is the much better, smarter film. But I can respect your opinion.

I don't get what being pg-13 has to do with anything...The Conjuring should of been PG-13, I enjoyed both Insidious and Conjuring. Found insidious slightly better imo, but they are both top horror movies of this generation(most are crap nowadays). The Conjuring doesn't get bonus points for having an R rating, it was the weakest R rating Ive ever seen

Saw will be remembered as that terrible SERIES. First one was alrite with a shit twist. I'll debate you all nite on the merits of each film if you like. Hell, I'll even debate whether High Tension is one of the worst pieces of shit ever made.

Only if I can get you to take those nostalgia glasses off because Friday The 13th is probably the worst horror series that is still culturally relevent.
