G.I. Joe madness! | Movie News

I can't believe that things still and always will look the same in movies. Those silly plastic shoulder pads and random floating metal (I guess they're supposed to be metal or armor or something) pieces always look the same no matter what it is. These characters look like throw away baddies in Metal Gear Solid or some straight to DVD movie.



It'll be forgotten quicker than it came and it'll be another dead franchise buried with AVP and the likes.



Oh well at least this is one boring pro-war propaganda flick I won't have to see.

I've liked most of the images so far - although with Sommers directing it is sure to suck ass. Storm Shadow looks like a dork though. Where is the Cobra insignia? Why is he wearing a long coat?

personally, i think the pictures look terrible. The costumes look so ridiculously fake its unreal. and stormshadow looks a lot less badass than the snake eyes pic was

...I'm not very excited about this film. Looks a little cheesy, even Roger Corman-ish. What's the budget, $5 million? I'll wait for the trailer to decide.

This is a joke right? I mean all of them look crappy, I was excited when I saw snake eyes, but now, they're all snake eyes without the mask. This is just stupid.

Yeah, uh, these look kinda like crap to me... some worse than others. But the biggest problem... what's with everybody wearing the same friggin' costume?! All black, all the time! These characters were, to me, differentiated mostly by their very distinctive costumes. Yeah, they each had different jobs, but their costumes were a LARGE part of WHO THEY WERE! Sticking everybody in the same black outfit just ain't G.I.Joe!



I don't mind some liberties, but this might as well be just any old (campy) military movie with the G.I.Joe names slapped on as an homage, or a nod to the characters we used to love.



Not to mention that a lot of the G.I.Joe costumes looked believably like military uniforms (with some modifications); and the ones they're using here look like they're from a sci-fi movie. If they absolutely have to abandon the signature look of the characters, they should at LEAST make the costumes look realistically military. I don't care HOW special a unit of the military you're in, you don't wear stuff like this!



Yeah, ya know what this is?! It's those cheesy, generic Joe rip-off soldiers that came in a 4-pack, who all had the same costumes; the ones your grandma got ya because she didn't know the difference between them and real G.I.Joes! That's what this is; it isn't G.I.Joe.



And I agree 100% with Mr. Boejangles, when he said, "AND I DONT CARE how stupid it looks, destro better have a metal head!"

Truly, because when you think Destro, what do you think of? The metal head. That's it! The metal head! He's not Destro without it! Period.



I don't feel good about this movie. And it wouldn't be a big deal if G.I.Joe wasn't the best thing EVER when we were kids! I'd prefer they don't make the movie, rather than get it wrong. They already failed to do Transformers justice, and now they're doin' the same to G.I.Joe.

For fucks sake, open your eyes. This is being done by the same moron that directed Van Helsing. G.I. Joe looks too cheesy. This movie will receive very low ratings. You'll see.

I need to learn how to type faster, I was thinking the same thing. I'm getting a very Jean Claude as Guile feel from the Dennis Quaid pic.
