Boy, talk about effective marketing. Just this poster alone for HOSTEL 2 makes me want to barf. Really, it's just a close-up of a steak but within the context of the movie, it gives me the heebie-jeebies in the best possible way. I'm still not sure HOSTEL really needed a sequel and whether it will be as effective as the original, but I'm certainly intrigued. As is the case with most edgy marketing pieces, this one sadly is not for the US. According to our friends at IGN, where the poster debuted, this is the international poster. BAH! C'mon Lionsgate, give us some of the good stuff stateside! HOSTEL 2 - sorry, ELI ROTH'S HOSTEL 2 - will be in theaters next summer. Click on the poster below to see the full image at IGN.

Hostel one just didn't work for me. People talked about how it's twist was better than Saw and such, and I honestly thought it was a pointless film that was only gaining so much attention because of it's violence.

For those who kept saying that Tarantino shouldn't have his name there, it did actually help the first film. I can't forget the time I was in Blockbusters and a guy was very...

For those who kept saying that Tarantino shouldn't have his name there, it did actually help the first film. I can't forget the time I was in Blockbusters and a guy was very knowledgably telling his friend to rent Hostel because it was "Typical Tarantino and one of 'his' best films yet".

Idiot.

But anyway, I think this poster is stupid, especially having Eli Roths name, but I suppose he wants to get his name out there and become the next John Carpenter, which I hope he doesn't achieve, since so far, none of his movies have been any good in my opinion.

The poster is fine, it does it's job by crossing me out but why does Tarantino have to put his name on everything as nothing? He's not a writer, director, actor, or producer of this movie yet his name is credited on the poster. Don't get me wrong I love Tarantino but putting his name on stuff just because he's friends with the people involved in making the movie is stupid. Who the fuck cares...

I seem to be in the minority in thinking that "Hostel" was one of the best movies of the year, and while I think a sequel is completely unnecessary, that's a damn disgusting poster. But in a good way.

I dig it.
Although I thought Hostel was a shitastic piece of... well, shit... and I'm not at all interested in this second installment (especially seeing how there should be a Cabin Fever 2 if that kat is interested in making sequals at all)... where was I? Oh yeah... it's pretty cool. I don't know why... but it works for me.

Oh as for Roth's name
Either he's a jackass (entirely possible) or it's mainly there to make sure the audience remembers that Tarantino didn't actually direct it. Sure, you could say that, theoretically, any such problem would be solved by taking Tarantino's name off the poster, but...you'd be right, and stuff. Yeah.

We'll see...we'll see.
One thing I hate about movies is when they try to approximate "guys hanging out" dialogue and fail. Cabin Fever made it through alright (well, perhaps it was just James DeBello), but Hostel fell flat on its face pretty much every time in this category. Jay Hernandez was alright, but the one from Dumb and Dumberer sucked. Anyway, if the characterization improves in Hostel 2 then I'll probably be...

To begin with: Fuck Hostel and any movie that looks like Hostel.

Now that I got that out of my system...

That has to be one of the stupidest posters ever. Just goes to show that not every international poster is inherently better than it's State-side counterpart.

It just doesn't do anything for me, I just have to say you know, what's the point.

but I guess that since most already know what hostel is posters don't matter, it's gonna be the same kind of stuff again.

Jesus-fuc****-Christ!
Now that's entertainment!

I'm so sick...and i just love it.

No matter what "critics" says about Roth's movies, i think both Cabin Fever and Hostel were pretty effective, humble movies.

What you see is what you get.
