Harrison Ford returning to the Star Wars Galaxy sooner than you thought

01.28.2016

Harrison Ford isn't done with STAR WARS yet.

You may have thought we'd seen the last of Ford as it pertains to the future of the brand, but you would be incorrect. Ford is set to serve as a major ambassador for Disney's STAR WARS plans, unveiling some of the plans for the STAR WARS theme park attractions that will be erected in both Disney's Hollywood Studios and Disneyland.

Ford will be appearing on a 60-minute television special on ABC - THE WONDERFUL WORLD OF DISNEY - which will celebrate the 60-year anniversary of Disneyland. While on-screen, he'll be pulling back the curtain in an official sense with new details on what you can expect to throw money at once these themed lands are opened.

THE WONDERFUL WORLD OF DISNEY special will air on February 21.

This headline was such a tease because I thought it would have been in reference for episode eight and/or nine.

Just make a new addition to Disney World, not just a new ride...

Everyone wants a completely new park, not just some corner where three new rides and attractions get dumped. What was the last "World" that we got? Wasn't it Animal Kingdom? I feel like it's time for a Star Wars Theme Park.

Here is the problem with that though..... If Disney does as you suggest and builds a new park they need to do one of 2 things... If they buy up land for it near existing attractions/parks they pay through the nose for that land because ANYONE adjacent to a park is going to only sell for a buttload of money if only because they know that even if the company wanting to buy the property does not turn out to be some disney shell corp that the land will be worth it in case Disney ever does decide

Alternately they could build the park a distance away from any other parks... However then they dilute their brand and increase operating costs because they either have to build a much larger series of parks (Disney usually has a core "Disneyland" style park and then sub parks like you suggest surrounding them) or they build Literally a star wars theme park that draws business away from other parks.

Either way it increases costs for Disney, while probably increasing costs for park attendees as well... I know that even excluding travel and accomodation it's already a lot to go to the park. For a 3 day pass for my wife and I would be 660 dollars canadian.

If the land surrounding the park is too expensive they could always get Elon Musk to build a hyperloop to a new park...how cool would that be?
