Jackman goes Nowhere | Movie News
Our favorite brawny Aussie Hugh Jackman may have risen to stardom thanks to his portrayal of a certain adamantium-clawed mutant, but that won't be his only foray into the world of comics.
Jackman is teaming with writer Marc Guggenheim (TV's "ELI STONE") for NOWHERE MAN, a new book from Virgin Comics. The story "features a protagonist reminiscent of the one Will Smith played in I AM LEGEND; the concept is a futuristic world where mankind has traded privacy for safety."
Like just about everything from Virgin, the series is engineered as a property to be transferred to the big screen (although the same could be said of most new comics these days), as a starring vehicle for Jackman.
Guggenheim has previous comic experience on THE FLASH and his pretty excellent post-alien invasion book RESURRECTION. Jackman will next be seen in DECEPTION, and is expected to star in DRIVE when he finishes X-MEN ORIGINS: WOLVERINE.Source: Variety
Extra Tidbit: Other Hollywood names with Virgin books include Nic Cage, John Woo, Ed Burns, Shekhar Kapur, Guy Ritchie and, um, Jenna Jameson.
