Jennifer Lawrence cast as Mystique in X-Men First Class & Kevin Bacon confirmed as villain

Fox has certainly been on the fast track to casting Matthew Vaughn’s X-MEN FIRST CLASS. In fact, it’s getting pretty close to complete.

Now one of the hotter, bluer females from the Marvel universe has been cast. Jennifer Lawrence who was most recently seen in the Sundance hit, WINTER’S BONE will play Mystique.

I’m not really sure of the Lawrence’s acting chops, but the girl definitely has the looks and body needed. I’m willing to give her a try though. No pun intended. Originally there was rumor that crowd favorite, Amber Heard would get the part, but it seemed more like wishful thinking than actual fact.

It also seems that Kevin Bacon has been confirmed as the villain for the film as well according to variety. But who exactly is he playing??? Looks like that is being kept a secret. A lot people are saying that it’s likely that he will play Mr. Sinister. Then again, a lot of people are also thinking that he could be playing Sebastian Shaw, leader of the Hellfire Club. Call me crazy, but I love any Marvel storyline containing the Hellfire Club. But I also get excited anytime I see anything involving Mr. Sinister. I’m just not sold on the idea of Bacon taking on the role of Sinister. I know he could pull it off, but to see him in that costume might be another story.
