Latest on-set Spectre photos suggest a key trait for Christoph Waltz

Ever since Christoph Waltz was in the running to be a bad guy in SPECTRE, it was rumored that he would actually be playing recurring villain Ernst Stavro Blofeld. Thanks to AUSTIN POWERS, the villain was reduced to a joke. Given Mendes' reboot of popular elements of the series in SKYFALL, what better time to bring back the infamous character than in SPECTRE? Well, Waltz has denied time and time again that he's playing this character, and these latest set pictures don't exactly help his argument.

Pictures taken on the Vauxhall Bridge in London, England, show Waltz sporting some mo-cap markers on his face for some work to be done in post. Either Sam Mendes imported Two-Face into his film, or methinks he's going to be sporting some nasty scars. Take a look:

Frankly, I'd rather Waltz just be playing this "Franz Oberhauser" character than someone who evolves into Blofeld. I think STAR TREK INTO DARKNESS just put a bad taste in my mouth when it comes to all this misdirection business. Besides, it's not outside the realm of possibility that Mendes just likes his villains with some serious physical detriments. Awfully coincidental, though....

SPECTURE will hit theaters on November 6, 2015.

He is definitely Number 1. Even if he is not, he will still be a superb villain.

Why?

If he is Blofeld, why would Mendes choose mocap for his scarring over practical effects? It isn't difficult, and significantly cheaper, to use traditional effects to create scarring and the like versus CGI.

If he had a white cat, I'd have said that's a Bingo! But mo-cap dots that may or may not be scarring? That doesn't tell me anything.

When Waltz was first cast, I didn't want him to be a one-and-done villain, so Blofeld would be awesome. Now, I want Blofeld to be the man in the shadows. Maybe a reveal at the end of the movie, when Oberhauser's plan goes to shit. And don't tell us who it is. Let us guess at that. I think that'd work better than another John Harrison misdirection. Especially

Especially since the trailer showed us Oberhauser is definitely in play.

But its traditional for the villains to have some sort of deformity so I wouldn't call this a smoking gun

I can't wait for this one. I have absolutely loved Craig's iteration of Bond. Granted Quantum of Solace was not great, but whatever the rest has been top notch! And frankly, I don't care if he's playing Blofeld or not, as long as they give us a compelling villain for Bond, I'm all for it!

I think it would have been good to have blofield in the shadows for this film but damn it I want Waltz to be him, the actors great! would love to see him as the major villain and in more than 1 bond film

He's Blofeld. Nothing can deter us from that fact.

It is more obvious who he is than Cumberbatch being Khan in the last Star Trek movie.
