It's Gerard Butler week! The guy must think they're gonna kick him out of Hollywood if he doesn't line up another half-dozen projects, but at this rate his career will last at least until the Rapture.

A single day after we learned he'd be working with the guys behind CRANK, we find out the 300 star and future Plissken will battle the lunacy and amorphous hair of Nicolas Cage in the prequel THE UNTOUCHABLES: CAPONE RISING.

Director Brian De Palma returns to his masterpiece-turned-franchise to tell of notorious gangster Al Capone's early Chicago years and his dealings with hard-nosed Irish cop Jimmy Malone. It's safe to assume that Butler (who described the script as "unbelievable") will portray the role that previously won an Oscar for fellow Scotsman Sean Connery.

A prequel so many years later isnt really a good idea.

Not Bad
I was more worried about Malone (who could step in as a young Connery?) than I was about Capone. Though Clive Owen might work, but this aint bad. Still not sold on there being any need for a Escape From New York remake (when there's still a perfectly good Kurt Russell running around!) but there could be some potential here. Maybe DePalma will find some magic in this prequel to one of his truly great movies. He's been a tad hit and miss (Black Dahlia was almost good but ultimately pretty pointless sadly) and not Mamet writing is a little worrisome but I'm not ready to to close the door myself on this one.

Ok, I will accept
that stupid Hollywood is going to make this movie. I will even accept the lousy miscasting of Nic Cage as Capone. Now will they at least take my advice and change that idiotic title?!!

How about The Untouchables: Your Vomit Rising.
