Martin vs. Baldwin

10.13.2008
100%

Steve Martin is kind of a comedic genius of yore, his talent, and humour sometimes lost on the Will Ferrell-hungry generation that populates today's urban landscape. Well perhaps his inclusion in the new Nancy Meyers film, which co-stars comedy's nom-du-jour Alec Baldwin, will make his career once again relevant to all you young folks. In the untitled film, Martin and Baldwin play rivals for the affection of a woman, who will be played by some dame named Meryl Streep. I'm a huge fan of what Baldwin's been doing with 30 Rock, and Martin is always classic, so this shizz has must-see written all over it.
Extra Tidbit: Steve Martin can next be seen as Inspector Clouseau in PINK PANTHER 2.

What Women Want is one of the best movies ever, well one of my all-time favorites at least. And Meyers' follow ups were pretty good, so I'll anything she does a look. Plus, its Steve Martin, hopefully the one we saw in 'The Jerk', not Pink Panther

Heh

This is good news, but when I saw the title, I was hoping it was a sequel to this clip:

Pink Panther should have been updated with Sacha Baron Cohen filling in, but good to see Steve Martin not following up with another Cheaper By The Dozen...

It'll be nice to see Martin back in something actually intermittently funny (Nancy Meyers is part of the James L. Brooks/Rob Reiner school of romantic comedy, so it turns sentimental for the last half). And since Baldwin can be incredibly funny, and Streep can do anything, this definitely sounds promising.

Which, to play on your own words: "this has shizz written all over it."
