Michael C. Hall "would definitely consider" playing Daredevil for Netflix

04.08.2014

A couple of weeks ago it was rumored Netflix and director Drew Goddard (who we just recently found out is also in talks to helm the SINISTER SIX spin-off for Sony) were eyeing Dexter's Michael C. Hall for their Daredevil series. In an interview with Vulture, Hall says it's only a rumor, however he would be interested in playing "the Man Without Fear," but would have to read the script first.

I've heard them, but I think that's all they are — rumors. Don't misunderstand, I would definitely consider it … but I can't tell you any inside information, because I think they're nothing but rumors. I really am enjoying mixing it up a little bit, and I'm committing to things that have a foreseeable end in sight when I start them, but I wouldn't rule out the possibility of [a new series] happening at some point. But I'd have to read the script!

So if Marvel wants Michael C. Hall and the actor is interested, then he's a lock for Daredevil, right? Not exactly. We don't know if Marvel is actually considering Hall for the character, and if they explore his origin in the new series, they may want a younger actor for the role.

Personally, I think Michael C. Hall would be perfect for Daredevil. He's a big enough star to carry a series, but not so big that it would cost Marvel and arm and a leg to land him. But like Hall says, this is only a rumor, so we'll have to wait and see if Marvel and Netflix actually want him for their upcoming series.

I almost read the headline as 'Michael B. Jordan "Would Definitely Consider"...' and expected to see a big red line showing a negative percentage, then racist comments about how a black person can't play an established white character...how it would be like 'casting a white actor as Shaft'....and the usual Uncle Tom who signs in to support said comments. (Of course, white performers being cast in Asian or Native American roles are ignored, since - in some cases - making certain properties

Anywho, with all that said, I'm not too familiar with Dexter, so I really can't say if it is a good or bad idea. I am looking for a superhero film that puts story above effects (something that the current Captain America film seems to be doing). So, 'color' me intrigued.

I'd love to see him get the part, I think Hall is a really good choice for M. Murdock.

This would be great...

But I'd want to see him in a Daredevil film not a show...That Fan Teaser was fucking terrible btw.

Yeah, He's Perfect...

Base the series on Mark Waid's current run on the comic.

Yeah, I've got to admit, there's a part of me where I feel like Michael C. Hall is almost too obvious a choice for the role, but.... there are worse problems, and the fact is, I think he'd totally knock it out of the park. He's an incredible actor, he looks the part, and if he's game to the idea, let's just hope Drew Goddard's script is up to snuff!

An actor who currently doesn't have a TV show saying he would work if offered work!? No way!
Of course he'd consider it. What type of actor wouldn't consider a role?... Not sure why these stories always get people excited.
Remember when Stephen Amell (Arrow) said he would be in Justice League if asked?! Of course he would...

You assume that he wants to return to a television series. That takes a lot of commitment and after two shows, he might want to avoid another one, maybe do more movies. Being the lead for a TV series may not always be attractive for an actor, considering the amount of time required, so it's not exactly a no-brainer. I doubt he is struggling to find job offers elsewhere.

Marvel should anchor their Netflix universe around one star like Hall. A smaller star, yes, but recognizeable to get people to watch. The rest of the series can be cast by unknowns.

I really, REALLY hope this happens. He was always my first choice (along side Misha Collins from Supernatural) to play Daredevil ever since the project was announced.

Just watch Six Feet Under and Dexter and tell me he WASN'T born to play the role.
