New Pelham trailer

In just about two hours, Sony will be unveiling a bunch of new footage from their summer films at ShoWest. Among those films will be THE TAKING OF PELHAM 123 (even though I know you guys are really dying to know more about JULIE & JULIA). I haven't seen much from the film yet to really knock my socks off or even compare with the original but Tony Scott always finds a way to make even mundane stuff somewhat enjoyable. Check out the new trailer below and then check back later as I share what I saw from PELHAM at the Sony presentation...

Extra Tidbit: Can't help but think it's Travolta that's slowing me down on this one...

I hear you Hoyle

I agree with you to an extent, but if they can capture what made the original so great which to me was a realistic vibe on a NYC subway and the scenery. How bad ass was Robert Shaw in the original? If they try and make a "speed" type movie the characters will definitely get overshadowed. We'll see what happens

Okay, so as a music video it's not bad. Not loving the hyper-kinetic+Travolta talking too much. One of Mr. Blue's best qualities was he never said any more than he absolutely had to. And Washington is no Walter Matthau, though he came close enough in "Inside Man." Now there's a movie that captured the essence of "Taking of Pelham." This looks more like "Speed" on crack. Which would be okay if it wasn't labeled a remake.
