When Tony Scott let it slip that not only is Fox rebooting the ALIEN franchise, which his brother Ridley launched, but they were doing it with one of their company directors Carl Rinsch, some of us weren’t the only ones to ask “say what?” on hearing this because “Hollywood Insider” is reporting that Fox isn’t having this whole unknown commercial director rebooting an iconic franchise. They mention, “Sources at Fox, however, tell EW that the studio is not interested in greenlighting a prequel unless Scott himself directs.” While Tony is pretty supportive of Rinsch taking the reins of the franchise, it may not be enough to get the film made. Which may not be a bad thing. Let’s leave at least one iconic franchise alone.
