Pretty Baby, Baby!

With the recent success of films like 300 and WANTED, it seems as though no graphic novel is safe from the clutches of Hollywood producers looking to cash in on the comic craze. I guess that’s a good thing, right? The latest picture book to be snatched up is Clark Westerman’s “Pretty Baby Machine”, which to go along with the amazing title, has a pretty super duper storyline as well.

The “mystery thriller” takes place during prohibition (hell on earth) in 1933 and follows gangsters Pretty Boy Floyd, Baby Face Nelson and Machine Gun Kelly as they join forces to take down reigning kingpin—one Alphonse Capone. Sounds pretty neat if you ask me. And if producers adhere to the vision of Kody Chamberlain’s artwork, they should have no problem casting the three title characters. Madsen, DeNiro, Keitel much?
