Radnor wraps Happy

Josh n' Coby on HIMYM

Being as much a fan of How I Met Your Mother as I am of its iconic Bro Code which should absolutely be an organized religion, I couldn’t resist touching upon star Josh Radnor’s feature-directing debut HAPPYTHANKYOUMORE PLEASE (yes, I know there’s no spaces, blame Josh!).

The screenplay from Ted Mosby himself, who worked on it for 4 years, had been touted around Hollywood as one of the best unproduced scripts of late. “Everybody said they loved the script and couldn’t wait to see it,“Radnor told Variety this week. “but did I have anything a little bigger, because this is a little small for us,”. Independent financing finally allowed for filming during the show’s summer hiatus this year, having wrapped just a few days ago.

Story follows the romantic foibles of 6 New Yorkers uneasy with crossing into their 30s, something I can unfortunately relate to. Nothing overly original there, BUT Radnor offered himself a duo of super-babes to co-star with, Malin Akerman and Kate Mara who will be Bethany Cabe to RDJ’s Tony Stark. Sort of a pre-emptive consolation should the film fail, if you will… No word yet on the  release, but a tour of the Festival circuit next spring should be expected.
