Ruben Fleischer to direct Danny McBride in 30 Minutes or Less | Movie News

Deadline just gave this update on the story:

"Sony Pictures Entertainment is acquiring distribution rights on the movie, so it's sounding more and more like a real thing. This puts Fleischer back into business with Columbia Pictures and co-prexy Matt Tolmach, who was heavily involved in Zombieland and the sequel they are developing."

Director of ZOMBIELAND Ruben Fleischer might helm a comedy starring Danny McBride called 30 MINUTES OR LESS.

Fleischer just had a meeting with McBride and talk on the project has gotten quite serious. The script for 30 MINUTES was written by Matthew Sullivan & Michael Diliberti and was on the infamous Blacklist.

The story, which was supposed to be a secret, follows a pizza guy on a caper. Is it possible to keep the story contained in a script a secret anymore? Regardless, shooting on the film could start as soon as this summer. McBride just wrapped on YOUR HIGHNESS which also stars James Franco, Zooey Deschanel, and Natalie Portman.

He'll also have to find the time to shoot this inbetween episodes of EASTBOUND & DOWN, which will shooting this summer as well. Yes, that's right, I said EASTBOUND & DOWN will start production this summer. I am so f*cking ready for more Kenny Powers.
