SLUMDOG MILLIONAIRE has been getting crazy kudos since it debuted at Telluride and today we have the first poster. I don't really know how I feel about it personally, I mean, it kinda makes the movie look like one half Wong Kar Wai and one half gimmicky student film. I do like the question that it poses though. Although I'd probably go with hidden answer "E. Facebook, Night-vision goggles and duct tape".

In SLUMDOG MILLIONAIRE, an impoverished Indian teen Jamal Malik became a contestant on the Hindi version of "Who Wants to be A Millionaire?" -- an endeavor made without prize money in mind, rather, an effort to prove his love for his friend Latika, who is an ardent fan of the show

missed it
I didn't see it at the film fest, so disappointed that I didn't too. As for the poster, ugly as hell.

As with the other comments here, saw this movie at the Toronto Film Fest and loved it. It's my favorite movie so far this year over The Wrestler, Hunger, Rachel Getting Married, and The Dark Knight. The second half is a little flawed compared to the stellar first hour but it's hardly enough to mar the film. Definitely hope it gets a good audience reception cause it deserves it.

It's great. Best film I saw at the Toronto festival, better than The Wrestler, better than Pascheandick even...its classic Boyle.

Dunno 'bout that poster though the "millionaire" tagline/question is retarded...luckily the film speaks for itself. Probably a best foreign film nom. in it for Boylemaster 9000.

It's Good
I've also seen it, and it's not really comparable to a student film because, well, it isn't a piece of shit.

It's actually really good.

Seen It.
I recently saw Slumdog Millionaire at the Austin Film Festival, with Danny Boyle presenting it. It was phenomenal, the best film I think I've seen since The Departed (no real similarities save for their sheer excellence).

It's a fascinating, fast paced, and intricate story that Boyle executed with expert and calculated precision, mixing light, innocent humor with the most wretched of human

It's a fascinating, fast paced, and intricate story that Boyle executed with expert and calculated precision, mixing light, innocent humor with the most wretched of human tragedy. It's got more heart than anything I've seen in a long time. I highly recommend it, and in a season scarce of any real contenders, Slumdog should take and DESERVES to take the Best Picture prize, with Boyle getting Best Director.
