Sons of Anarchy & The 100’s Michael Beach joins the cast of Aquaman

It looks like things are going swimmingly for James Wan and DC's AQUAMAN, as the aquatic superhero action film has just added SONS OF ANARCHY and THE 100 alum Michael Beach to its cast. Warner Bros. says that Beach will step into the role of Jesse Kane, a character who runs with a group of high-seas hijackers and, while pirating it up, has a fateful interaction with Aquaman.

However, Deadline Hollywood has said that some fans are of the mind that Beach will instead go on to play the role of Abdul-Mateen II aka Black Manta's father. The reason for this is that Abdul-Mateen himself tweeted a photo from Australia, where AQUAMAN was known to be in production. When asked for clarification, Beach got real smooth and shady about denying the fatherly role. Either way, Beach will join Jason Momoa Amber Heard, Nicole Kidman, Willem Dafoe, Patrick Wilson, Ludi Lin, Dolph Lundgren, Temuera Morrison and Yahya Abdul-Mateen II for what is hoped to be another kick ass offering from the DCEU.

It's become quite clear in the past several months that Warner Bros. is looking to re-invent Arthur Curry for their rough-and-tumble cinematic universe. My hope is that, with Wan's keen eye for the dark and outrageous, we get a rock-solid action blockbuster with Momoa's "not your Daddy's liquor swilling" AQUAMAN. We'll know for certain when AQUAMAN swims into theaters on December 21, 2018
