The trailer isn't set to premiere until later tonight on Entertainment Tonight (people still watch that show?) or on Friday enclosed with prints of THE GOLDEN COMPASS but this morning USA Today has your first look at eight new pictures from the film. And I can pretty much guarantee you this SPEED RACER is nothing like you imagined. How to describe it? Trippy? Colorful? Boy, I tell you I can't wait to see what's going on in the trailer now. So I could give this movie 4 thumbs down. After The Matrix sequels, and the terrible job done trying to save The Invasion, hasn't someone realized that The Wachowski's are hacks?

Just saw the trailer on Spike, and I must say... OMG!! This looks soo... fucking... lame!! Yea, Speed Racer the cartoon was cheese hell, but come on! This looks so bad, it's almost sad really. Hopefully this kills the Wachowski's careers for good.

I am not 100% what to think of this.

But it looks Wild as shit

I imagine I'm going to get this trailer with the Golden Compass here in about an hour...so I think i'ma head to work and put that bitch together so I can see this crazyness of a trailer they call Speed Racer.

I don't see what the problem is. every picture looks good. I sense an epic quality and intensity in the races from the two pics of the racer actually racing. but I thought everything was supposed to be in focus at the same time all the time. and there were a few pics that werent that way. either way, i'm looking forward to this. and thank you spaulding, I thought I was the only one that liked...

Ohh God! These look so horrible. Hirsch just does not look like a good fit, nor does this look like anything that will resemble a solid movie.

I'll wait and see...
but for now, those images don't really interest me in their own right. I prefer any still from the cartoon to those, but maybe in action, who knows. it'll be someones cup of tea for sure, and that's fine by me. I'm interested none the less...

I'm really looking forward to this. The Wachowskis are trying something new, at least, and they've only made one bad film so far (I actually liked Revolutions, I just pretend Reloaded never happened) and, really, people were scared of what they'd do with V For Vendetta as well. Plus, Emile Hirsch is a damn good actor.

Heh I wonder if they are making Hirsch the same height as matt fox. (ie: pic 7) walking on boxes. looks like it might be fun though

I dont know, it just look so crazy that i love it. And that little kid is awesome, met him a couple times, really good kid. Only thing is Racer X's costume looks a little cheap

I think it looks pretty damn good for the goal that they're aiming for!

Wicked stuff, at least it's something new and inventive from hollywood, rather than some shitty remake/sequel.

I get it that they are trying to make it super cartoony in homage to the cartoon...but come on! Those pics look shitty as fucking hell!
