Spoilers: Tony Stark will seek help from a friend in the Iron Man 3 post-credit scene

Iron Man 3

How about a tasty spoiler to start your week?

At this point post-credit scenes are mandatory for all of Marvel's films. I think if there was a Marvel film without that little bonus plenty of fanboys would start to riot. Some may call it sequel baiting or think it's a gimmick just to give nerds hard-ons but I think the sequences are entertaining as hell and to me the scenes have always worked because they feel like something that does appear in the comics. Plenty of times at the end of a comic there will be a tiny bonus story or a tease of something bigger at work so why not have something similar for the films?

IRON MAN 3 premiered in Paris last night and a source for Latino-Review has a scoop on the post-credit scene that appears at the end of the film. This is clearly a spoiler so if you want to avoid it don't scroll past the image of a...uh...spoiler.

Spoiler

Here's what was revealed about the IRON MAN 3 post-credit scene:

It starts with a close shot of Tony Stark on a couch talking about his various traumas, obviously he’s talking to someone, as if he was seeing a shrink, the tone of the scene is light and supposedly funny. Then we discover that the person he’s talking to is Bruce Banner/Mark Ruffalo, who fell asleep because of Tony’s boring story. Tony remarks that Banner has been sleeping during the most part of his story and yells at him, and Banner just mumbles and says “You know, I’m not that kind of doctor!” Then Tony recalls another memory and resumes his monologue, and then we see Banner starting to fall asleep again.

The banter between Robert Downey Jr. and Mark Ruffalo was awesome in THE AVENGERS and I'm glad we're going to get more of it, even if it is only a couple of seconds. There were some rumors that the post-credit scene for IRON MAN 3 might involve GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY somehow but there's always a chance Marvel could sneak another scene in at the end as well similar to the post-credit scene for THE AVENGERS that was shot after the film's premiere.

Jesus Christ will May 3rd just get here already so we can see this damn movie?

How about a secondary post credit scene in which after Banner says You know, Im not that kind of doctor!, we see Tony walking down the street past a certain Master of the Mystic Arts home.

Idiots thinking they would do a big reveal here...

I don't get why you people would think they would waste their time with a big reveal. We still have another marvel move coming out this year. If you want a credits scene that makes sense, this is the one we got. If you want to see Guardians of the Galaxy, that may be hinted at with Thor's credit sequence. It would fit better there anyways. Odds are though that since the new avengers have not been casted, or done any preliminary screening that they won't mention any new avengers until Captain

You people want too much. Give it a rest.

With the film's release date in the UK edging ever so closer ...I've made a renewed effort to stop reading stories about this movie...and watching the TV spots this website keeps throwing my way ...in what I can only describe as attempts to break my will. Then...I see the link to this story on my FB page .....my fingers tap on my desk...right in front of my mouse ...let it go my boy ....my inner self says to me....let it go ....but then my finger gives me the finger...and reaches for the mouse

Then...I see the link to this story on my FB page .....my fingers tap on my desk...right in front of my mouse ...let it go my boy ....my inner self says to me....let it go ....but then my finger gives me the finger...and reaches for the mouse ...and click ....I'm here.

I then read the story ...and reach the spoiler warning ...and by now, my brain has clicked in to gear and joined forces with my finger ...I scroll on down.

I read ...I like the first few lines ...get real excited ....see Banner's name ...initially I'm on a nano second of a downer...when I realise this doesn't sound like the Guardians of the Galaxy teaser that was rumoured to be coming along ...nonetheless ...I quickly regain my senses ...hell, it's Banner ...it's cool. Then I like the line saying "I’m not that kind of doctor!”...and as I read the remaining words ...for the nano-ists of seconds ....I thought some reference was going to be made towards Dr Strange.

I read it all ...and like MickLoud says below ...underwhelming. Honestly, I let out a sigh ...I was just ...I don't know ...expecting more.

Good to know that these two keep in touch.

I think that is an awesome post credit scene. The narration was simply him talking to Bruce Banner, that is fucking hilarious! I hope Marvel never loses it's sense of humor.

Really underwhelming post-credit scene. So far in the Marvel cinematic universe these post-credit scenes have been really great at promoting or building to the next installment of movies. I think it would have been way better to use this scene to either link into GOTG or promote Ant-Man. Hell, I'd even take them introducing Falcon or Winter Soldier through this scene. But having Bruce Banner just seems "blah" to me, maybe it's because there is absolutely no plan for the character to be used

That being said, perhaps in the grand scheme of things this might be cool if Banner is expected to show up in more Phase 2 films. I remember the post-credit scene of Thor was really underwhelming, but now having seen Avengers, it makes a lot more sense.

Not what I was expecting. Was kinda hoping that it would be Tony finding the next Avenger.

Underwhelming

I would rather see Tony giving the Hulk some anger management advices.

speaking of the avenger post credit scenes, they shouldve been swapped around. the villain reveal shouldve been the final scene

I thought it would be Ant-Man. But I love the "spoiler" pic! A Stephanie Brown comic panel might also work.

meh

I'd prefer the post-credit scene be used to promote the next thing, but that's just me.

Even though I like seeing Bruce back, I was kind of hoping for something related to Guardians of the Galaxy or Ant Man.

But I'm sure the extra scene will still be awesome.
