Synopsis and official image from the new 007 film Skyfall

Sony Pictures has released the synopsis and an official image of Daniel Craig from the upcoming 007 entry, SKYFALL. The synopsis is fairly vague, but gives enough detail to merit some interest, especially in M’s character. Read on:

Daniel Craig is back as James Bond 007 in Skyfall, the 23rd adventure in the longest-running film franchise of all time. In Skyfall, Bond’s loyalty to M (Judi Dench) is tested as her past comes back to haunt her. As MI6 comes under attack, 007 must track down and destroy the threat, no matter how personal the cost.

It sounds like M may have a meatier role in this one, which could be pretty cool. Judi Dench is great in the role, but so far all we really know about M is that she likes fancy clothes and always rides in limo’s.

Perhaps this will be like STAR WARS: EPISODE 2 when we finally saw Yoda kick some ass. Only for SKYFALL it’ll be a little old English lady with a tidy hairdo and judo chops.

The official image is rather underwhelming as we’ve seen enough of Craig in a bathing suit. We get it, Craig is in great shape! We don’t need an image of his coin slot! Skyfall sails into theaters courtesy of cool gadgets and half naked girls on November 9th, 2012.
