These images for The Lego Ninjago Movie have everybody kung-fu fighting

02.06.2017

I don’t know about you, but I for one am quite pleased by the results of the LEGO toy company making their way to the silver screen in recent times. In my estimation, THE LEGO MOVIE was an absolute blast, and I have it on good authority that THE LEGO BATMAN MOVIE is going to be rather entertaining as well. Truth be told, I already have my tickets reserved for that one. Friday night, baby! I’m going to get my Lego Batman on!

Today, Warner Bros. Pictures (coutesy of USA Today) has unleashed a set new photos to promote its upcoming animated martial arts-inspired adventure THE LEGO NINJAGO MOVIE. As you can see from the photos below, the images feature Jackie Chan’s Master Wu character looking quite battle-ready, a group of young ninjas, and a fancy logo to boot. Based on the popular toy line of the same name, THE LEGO NINJAGO MOVIE tells the tale of six young ninja warriors who’re forced to protect their island home from evil. By night, the ninjas use their skills to protect themselves and those around them from malicious monsters, spirits, and demon lords. By day, they’re just ordinary teens struggling through an adolescent's most nefarious foe … high school! Dun dun dunnnnnnn!

Lending their voices to the cast of THE LEGO NINJAGO MOVIE are actors Dave Franco, Michael Pena, Abbi Jacobson, Kumail Nanjiani, Zach Woods, Fred Armisen, Justin Theroux, and Olivia Munn. Directed by Charlie Bean and written by NINJAGO: MASTERS OF SPINJITSU scribes Dan and Kevin Hagerman, this comical animated romp is expected to kata its way into theaters on September 22, 2017.

Extra Tidbit: I'm still waiting on a LEGO WORLDS film to be announced. Imagine it, all of the properties that fall under the LEGo umbrella coming together for one gigantic animated adventure. Give it to me!
