Will Captain America’s Peggy Carter be played by Alice Eve or Hayley Atwell?

The Battle of the Babes for the role of Captain America’s girlfriend continues!

According to E!, it’s boiling down to lovely Brit lasses Alice Eve (SEX IN THE CITY 2, SHE’S OUT OF MY LEAGUE) and Hayley Atwell (THE DUCHESS, CASSANDRA’S DREAM) to play Cap’s main squeeze “Peggy Carter”. Emily Blunt, as reported last week, has already dropped out, and E! is also saying that Keira Knightley is no longer in the running.

Both women are said to be screen-testing for a second time today while in London. Eve is apparently Marvel’s current front-runner for the role.

So what do you guys think of either of these ladies? Chime in! Marvel is gauging fan reaction to reports like these to see what sticks and what doesn’t. I personally don’t think Atwell has a chance, honestly. I feel it’s Eve’s role to lose at this point – she’s relatively inexpensive and she’s culturally well-exposed to the right demographic at the moment with SHE’S OUT OF MY LEAGUE as well as being on the cover of the current issue of Maxim (literally well-exposed in that case).
