Two new stills from Monsters University show off the colorful characters we can hope to see

It’s not like Pixar has ever really made an unattractive or bland movie, but they seem to be pushing as hard as they can in the opposite direction just to be safe. No matter what you thought of the movie itself, I think it’s safe to say we all agree that BRAVE was achingly, stunningly, unfairly beautiful. Especially if you’ve ever seen the Blu-ray version played on a large hi-def teivision – just… whoa.  And if these stills from MONSTERS UNIVERSITY are any indication, Pixar is taking no chances with their rep regarding visuals.  The colors, the textures, the composition, the shadows – everything in these two stills looks stellar in a way I wouldn’t have imagined.

I’m becoming more and more excited for MONSTERS UNIVERSITY at a very gradual pace (the slowness due to it being a prequel more than anything else), and while it’s not to the level of previous Pixar releases just yet I’m sure I’ll be there by the time the movie arrives in theaters on June 21st.
