Walker's Bone Deep Sep. 5, 2008

Two actors in need of a career rennaissance are Paul Walker and Hayden Christensen. Once considered to be two of young Hollywood's hottest properties, both have seen a significant decline in relevance and work. Once the king of the galaxy as young Vader, Christensen has been relegated to the role of that guy who's banging Rachel Bilson, while Walker is running scared back to the fast and furious glory days. Fittingly, the two have decided to join forces in an attempt to regain their places among the matinee idol elite.

BONE DEEP, a crime thriller directed by John Luessenhop, will revolve around a group of criminals who find their $20 million plan interrupted by a hard-boiled detective, to be played by Matt Dillon. Walker will play the leader of the bank robbers while Christensen will play a rookie detective. Unfortunately this thing sounds like just another mediocre popcorn flick that will pass in and out of theatres unnoticed, a-la JUMPER. On the bright side, the film also co-stars two of urban music's brightest young stars in Chris Brown and T.I. as well as my favorite of all time, Stringer Bell! (Idris Elba, for you non Wire-heads).

Extra Tidbit: Hayden and Paul both starred in films with Jessica Alba. When will it be my turn?

Whether or not you liked Jumper, I just wanted it noted that the movie made over 80 million dollars at the box office. So, I am saying that it did not "pass in & out of theaters".

But why they are casting "Chris Brown". Why him, aren't there any other actors or newbies. Is he that good enough to come to movies?

TI, can be good. He is okay, he was good in "American Gangster", but why Chris Brown. GOD, pisses me off.

And heist movies are awesome.

But I agree with t_mar, the title is kinda weird.

Paul Walker won me over with Running Scared. If you haven't seen it you should. It even has The Arrows approval! I haven't liked any other of his movies but he did even in his shitty movies he stands out.

Christensen can go either way. I think he's good with the right director.

Even Liam Neeson was horrible in his Star Wars prequel. Lucas has the ability to make any actor, no matter how talented, look useless on screen. Christensen was great in Awake and Life as a House. I also wouldn't call Jumper a mediocre popcorn flick. Considering its based on a popular kids' novel it was pretty damn good (compare it to Eragon, The Seeker, or The Golden Compass).

As far as Paul Walker goes, he was great in Running Scared, but I haven't enjoyed him in anything else. I guess that has to do more with the movies themselves though.

Its good to see these guys aren't yet stuck doing sappy romantic comedies (Ryan Reynolds hasn't been as fortunate).

I dig Christenson and would like to see him in more stuff. Jumper wasn't the best movie on earth but I thought he did alright. I have not seen that recent one with him yet though. I won't give up on his potential yet.

The idea of Paul Walker facing off against Matt Dillon (a guy made to play ambiguous characters) sounds intriguing. I was actually hoping Christensen would be cast as a crook, sort of his character in "Life as a House" crossed with the Sundance Kid. Alas, he gets the boring job of playing Matt Dillon's partner, so it looks like he won't get worthwhile work yet.

I swear, if we could just erase the "Star Wars" prequels, folks might actually have an iota of respect for Hayden Christensen.

I dont care that much about walker either way, but man I do not like christenson at all -- he was awful in the star wars flicks, possibly the worst aspect, and in almost every film since then, he's shown hes not a very good actor, and completely forgettable .. he doesn't deserve to be in A or even B-movies and should go back to wherever the hell lucas found him.

Every since "Dog Day Afternoon" until "The Bank Job" I'm a huge fan of films that revolve around bank robbers.. heck! The Joker started his mayhem by making one the greatest heist ever!

Besides, its got Dillon and Hayden whom I believe are great actors.. not so sure about Walker though, but still...

Now.. what's your deal with Hayden?! Sorry but I have to disagree with you.. the kid played VADER man! And both JUMPER and AWAKE really surprised me.. so.. the kid has talent and decent films!

Dunno about anyone else but I really enjoyed JUMPER and hopefully they make the sequel soon...
