Last week we brought you the trailer and a slew of UK posters for THE DISAPEARANCE OF ALICE CREED, a kidnapping-thriller that has impressed at festivals and is coming to US soil in August. (It’s already playing overseas.)
If that wasn’t enough, we now have a look at the film’s opening five minutes, courtesy of Comingsoon.net. Definitely looking cool, with a cold, calculated vibe that a crafty crime thriller needs. I’ve embedded the video below, so just scroll down, click on that sucker and enjoy.
On a suburban street, two masked men seize a young woman. They bind and gag her and take her to an abandoned, soundproofed apartment. She is Alice Creed, daughter of a millionaire. Her kidnappers, the coldly efficient Vic and his younger accomplice Danny, have worked out a meticulous plan. But Alice is not going to play the perfect victim – she’s not giving in without a fight. In a tense power-play of greed, duplicity and survival we discover that sometimes disappearances can be deceptive…
Directed by J Blakeson, the film stars Gemma Arterton (Quantum of Solace, Prince of Persia), Eddie Marsan (Sherlock Holmes) and Martin Compston (Red Road). It opens in the states on AUGUST 6th.
