Netflix Canada sets a January 31 debut for Uncut Gems on the streamer

Not long after announcing that the Happy Madison Productions crime-comedy MURDER MYSTERY, starring Adam Sandler and Jennifer Aniston, had been crowned as the most-watched Netflix film of 2019, the streaming network has inked a deal that will allow them to host Sandler's latest smash-hit, UNCUT GEMS, beginning on January 31st in Canada.

For the Josh and Benny Safdie crime-drama, Sandler stars as Howard Ratner, a charismatic New York City jeweler who's always on the lookout for the next big score. After making a series of high-stakes bets that could lead to the windfall of a lifetime, Howard must perform a precarious high-wire act that involves balancing business, family, and encroaching adversaries on all sides as part of his relentless pursuit of the ultimate win. In addition to Sandler, the A24 feature also stars LaKeith Stanfield, Tommy Kominik, Keith Williams Richards, among others.

Recently, the anxiety-ridden mystery has been a subject of hot debate on social media, with many people claiming that Sandler was snubbed by Monday's Oscar nominations. Be that as it may, Netflix seized this opportunity to announce the film's inclusion as a part of their January lineup.

Well, well, well, this is some outstanding news! I'd been hoping to catch a screening of the film in my local theater, but to no avail. Now, with UNCUT GEMS coming to Netflix at the end of this month, I can experience the movie in the comfort of my own nerd cave! Honestly, it's like Netflix knew that my birthday was coming up, or something. Thanks Netflix, I knew that I'd kept you among my many streaming services for a good reason!
