True story – Darren Lynn Bousman was one of the first big interviews I ever did for JoBlo. It was way back in 2008, and Bousman was at Fantasia in Montreal promoting his soon to be cult hit, Repo! The Genetic Opera. He was a gracious, freindly interview so I was keen to catch up with him thirteen (!) years later to discuss his return to the Saw franchise with Spiral: From the Book of Saw.
I thoroughly enjoyed this franchise reboot/continuation (my review), and Bousman weighed-in on the evolving nature of the series, plus how he acheived the film's unique look. He also – naturally – has a few fun Chris Rock and Samuel L. Jackson stories. I also got some more spoilery-stuff, but we'll run all that next week after more folks have gotten the chance to check the movie out for themselves.
