The Flash promo reveals introduction of Elongated Man

Last Updated on July 30, 2021

So there are two famous DC superheroes with stretchy powers, and it looks like Elongated Man has beat Plastic Man to the live-action punch. While there was a Plastic Man film in development in the mid-90s (with the Wachowski sisters writing the screenplay), nothing came of it, and Elongated Man will be making his debut on the CW's THE FLASH, played by Hartley Sawyer. And while THE FLASH has been pretty good with doing CG effects on a TV budget (Grodd being particularly effective, considering) those stretchy effects are sub-SKY HIGH (a film I love, but which wasn't known for its spectacle). Which is coincidental, as he shares a scene in the trailer with Danielle Panabaker (who played Layla in the film).

Anyway, here's the official synopsis:

Cisco is shocked when Gypsy’s (guest star Jessica Camacho) father, Breacher (guest star Danny Trejo), shows up on Earth-1. Breacher takes an immediate disliking to Cisco and decides to hunt him. Meanwhile, Barry runs into his old nemesis, Ralph Dibny (guest star Hartley Sawyer).

Having not watched the show, that all sounds like gibberish to me, but hopefully it's getting you Flash-heads' blood boiling! And I have to admit, the fact that Danny Trejo is in this is pretty awesome as well. The episode will be directed by series regular Tom Cavanagh (YOGI BEAR).

Meanwhile, THE FLASH episode "Elongated Journey Into Night" will premiere on the CW this Halloween. Doesn't seem that scary, honestly.
