Ryan Reynolds says Josh Brolin will be an “epic” Cable

Last Updated on July 30, 2021

Anyone following Josh Brolin on social media has witnessed his bulking up and turning into an utter beast to play Cable in the upcoming superhero sequel – DEADPOOL 2. The actor isn’t turning into a human Hulk for no reason, and he will surely put those muscles to use by beating the living hell out of someone, and that someone most likely Deadpool himself (Ryan Reynolds).

Reynolds spoke with Fandango recently to promote his new movie THE HITMAN’S BODYGUARD, and in the process spoke about how he’s been spending a recent round of DEADPOOL filming getting a beatdown from Brolin’s Cable:

I think it’s going to be very interesting. I’ve spent this last week on the business end of many Josh Brolin punches. Both verbal and physical and literal and it’s going to be pretty fantastic. He’s going to be epic. He’s going to be an epic Cable.

Brolin has been getting shredded to play the role, and at this point, the word “epic” is basically flowing through his bloodstream at this very moment. But at some point in the movie, he will switch from beating up Deadpool to beating up with Deadpool, as the two will most likely team up and form the RUSH HOUR bond Rob Liefeld talked about. Real friends beat the hell out of each other to show affection, at least that's what my friends tell me.

Also looking suitably badass is Zazie Beetz as Domino, who we just saw a few looks at yesterday, and who looks like she could dish out some ass-whuppins’ herself. Basically, everyone in this film can be placed in the "epic" category, and we should expect a certain level of action awesomeness that comes from having such a title.

DEADPOOL arrives June 1, 2018.
